Adventure in the Midnight Sun
Sharon
and I just returned from a trip to the Arctic in our little old 180 without aux
tanks. We went with two 185s and a 182 which were on straight floats. The
furthest North we went was Cambridge Bay. The enthusiasm of the the natives for
our Lake is evident in one of these pictures, especially the kids.
At times we did haul 20gal of av gas in 5gal jerry cans in the
back where the passenger seat would go. The highest price we paid for fuel was
$572 per barrel or a little over 10 buck a gal, most of the time it worked out
to about 6 bucks a gallon.
You can tell from the photos we had a great time. We put 48
hrs of tach time on in 12 days.
